Marco Benevento at Levon Helm Studios is tradition. Right down the road from his house, Marco and company leisurely set up shop inside the hallowed walls of Levon Helm’s fabled barn for two nights and then proceed to blow the roof off!

When it came time for the 2023 shows, the call was made to let the tape roll, multi-tracking each evening. The result, ‘Barn Burner: Live At Levon’s,’ is out now. A lucky 13 tracks presenting highlights from a magical weekend. It captures Marco’s trio, with Karina Rykman and Chris Corsico, on a sonic rocket ship.

Marco’s sprawling repertoire is touched upon, from his post-jazz gem, solo album debut ‘Invisible Baby’ right through to 2022’s analog keys, weirdo psych opus ‘Benevento.’ Knotty improvised jams untangle into glistening crescendos, party starters like “Coyote Hearing” and “Let It Slide” sit side by side with compositional beauties like “I Can’t See The Light,” “Follow The Arrow” and “You Must Be A Lion.” Evenings at Levon Helm Studios are not complete until paying tribute to the musical spirits of the Hudson Valley. That box is checked with the creeky, perfectly warped and ultimately transcendent Bob Dylan & The Band traditional “This Wheel’s On Fire” with Scott Metzger jumping in on guitar.

‘Barn Burner: Live At Levon’s’ is available on 2-LP, 180-gram classic black vinyl with a beautiful gatefold jacket and on all of streaming platforms. A star-dusted memento with the light of the Woodstock moon shining down bright upon it.
