House With An “R” dips into the archives of legendary underground punk jazz trio Dead Kenny Gs to present two shows from June 2011 while touring in support of Primus: The Fillmore in Miami Beach on June 4, 2011 and Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater on June 7, 2011.
Comprised by Skerik (saxophones/efx), Mike Dillon (drums/vibes/percussion), and the late Brad Houser (bass), the album’s title pays tribute to their beloved bassist and friend who passed unexpectedly in July 2023.
Among the 24 tracks presented here are DKGs’ classics like “Black Truman,” “Devil’s Playground,” “Kill the Poor” and “Black Budget” from studio albums/EPs, including Operation Long Leash, Bewildered Herd, and Gorelick.
