Edward David Anderson has announced the release of his next studio album, Lower Alabama: The Loxley Sessions, due October 16 via Royal Potato Family. The first single from the collection, “Jimmy & Bob & Jack” is out now via PopMatters.
The nine-track effort is the second solo album by Anderson who’s also known for his work with the late great midwest rock band Backyard Tire Fire. To capture the songs and sounds he was hearing this time around, Anderson recruited Anthony Crawford—former Neil Young and Steve Winwood bandmate and current member of the Alabama roots band, Willie Sugarcapps—to produce the recording. Together they hunkered down at Crawford’s studio in the rural town of Loxley, Alabama.
