Mike Dillon and Peregrine Honig have made a stunni Mike Dillon and Peregrine Honig have made a stunning video for the song “Pandas,” paying tribute to the life of artists and musicians in New Orleans and the ever teetering tightrope they walk to stay solvent. Beauty and despair reflected back at each other… “Pandas” follows Mike Dillon through the routine of shedding and performing, magnifying the grey area musicians navigate in a black and white economy. Directed by Peregrine Honig and filmed by Chadwick Christopher, the camera captures historical New Orleans architecture and culture surrounded by cardboard cities of temporary shelter and drug addled poverty. Over the Rusty Rainbow, through The Music Box Village and back to the levy, “Pandas” is a visual and auditory journey from and to the river’s edge.  In the words of Honig, “The creative class is a hunted and endangered species. Artists bring eight hundred billion dollars into the economy, but struggle to afford health care, own property and avoid addiction as independent contractors.
